The Brothers Bloom: Opening Sequence

I must admit, I've been awaiting this for a while. Writer-Director Rian Johnson ("Brick") brings us The Brothers Bloom stars Adrien Brody, Mark Ruffalo and Rachel Weisz.

IMDB describes the premise thus: The Brothers Bloom are the best con men in the world, swindling millionaires with complex scenarios of lust and intrigue. Now they've decided to take on one last job - showing a beautiful and eccentric heiress the time of her life with a romantic adventure that takes them around the world.

Check out their humble beginnings:

I'm kind of sold...

*hints at* Rinko Kikuchi as well.

I've been waiting for this film literally for almost a year, I think. Since I heard about it during the Toronto Film Festival, I think... and it has been on my to watch list exactly 310 days - I just happened to checked today. LOL

btw, do you know of theauteurs.com? It has some great films... including some great Asian ones.

Yeah, I've seen that clip a million times, Goddess D.

MIND BLOWING. AWESOME. UTTERLY AMAZING.

And that's the BEST part BY FAR.

I saw TBB Friday night. I gave it three stars for the effort. Just barely.

It has everything going for it and it still hit the skids.

With the vast majority of people, it would definitely be a love it or hate it proposition. I'm one of the few individuals that could actually admit that I'm in the middle.

But my three star rating (in this case) would mean DANGEROUSLY CLOSE to a 6/10.

But I dunno. You just may adore it. I did think it was a hell of a lot better than BRICK.

My review is up if you'd like to take a look at it...

Amy, I just signed up for it! I didn't even know about it but I think I'm in love! Wow, their library is quite astonishing and all for free.

Ms. M, I will be reading your review shortly. I'm a bit sad since my expectations were quite high for this one considering it features some of my favorite actors, but alas, we share so many opinions, I'm pretty sure I'll have the same reaction. And, of course, the reception to the film by other reviewers has been mixed, just like yours, so it doesn't bode well for TBB.

Hmm, well some of the films for free anyway. And not all films are available to view in my region... but anyway!

You can add me to your network =D
