London Film Critics Announce Winners


The London Film Critics Circle announced their winners for the best films and performances of 2008. The LFCC have made some terrific choices throughout the year (Just last year, Marion Cotillard and Sam Riley were honored for their outstanding work) Lead actor winners were Mickey Rourke (The Wrestler) and Kate Winslet (The Reader and Revolutionary Road), two fantastic choices. Here's the full list:

British Actor of the Year: Michael Fassbender, "Hunger"

The NSPCC Award for Young British Performance of the Year: Thomas Turgoose, "Somers Town" / "Eden Lake"
Breakthrough British Film-Maker: Steve McQueen, "Hunger"
Foreign Language Film of the Year: "Waltz With Bashir" (Ari Folman)
The Dilys Powell Award for Outstanding Contribution to Cinema: Dame Judi Dench
