Where do we stand on the Potter phenom?

It doesn't do a lot for me, yet I read all the books and I've seen all the movies. Explain that.

The movies seem to try too hard to cram in ever beloved detail from the books and they come across a little bit wooden.

Having said that, I liked this trailer quite a bit and if memory serves (it's a little fuzzy, all the titles tend to blend together in my mind), the book was a good one too.

I have to admit, I'm a big fan. I stopped reading after "Goblet of Fire" and not because I didn't enjoy it, but because I simply didn't have the time. Since then, my interest in the actual films skyrocketed and I look forward to every installment. Folks at the Porker household are big fans of "Half-Blood Prince," so I'm definitely expecting good things.

Love the books, am indifferent on the movies. They cut a lot of stuff out of this sixth film, but from the looks of the trailer they're leaving the young Tom Riddle story intact, which is good. They cut out his entire family's storyline, which is crazy, but whatever.

I'll still be seeing this one... I've already made it through the first five movies, I'll make it through the last three (seventh is split in two) out of loyalty.

Speaking of which... has anyone read the interview for TDK where Gary Oldman says he feels like he ruined Daniel Radcliffe's innocence? Oldman still keeps in touch with Radcliffe, and Radcliffe told Oldman that they were splitting the seventh film into two parts because they wanted to avoid condensing the material and whatnot. Oldman told him no, they were splitting it into two films because they wanted to make more money out of the franchise, and in reply Radcliffe only said, "Oh."

D'oh! I left a comment here this morning and it's lost to the wilds of the internet. Same thing happened at AD earlier. Just not my day.

I can't remember everything I said except one thing I like better in the movies than the books is Quidditch. It always seemed kind of boring and nonsensical to me in the books, but of course on screen it's a lot of fun.
